Who Can Apply?
Canadians of all ages can now apply for the CDCP, as long as they meet the following eligibility requirements:
- No current dental insurance
- Adjusted family net income of less than $90,000
- Resident of Canada for tax purposes
- Filed a tax return for the previous year
If you’re already receiving dental benefits through another government program, you may still be eligible. CDCP coverage can be coordinated to avoid gaps or duplication.
What does CDCP Cover?
Once approved, CDCP can help cover a range of dental treatments, including:
- Routine cleanings and exams
- Fillings and root canal therapy
- Dentures and extractions
- Other treatments (some may require pre-approval)

Important Facts About the CDCP
- The CDCP is not a free program. You may be responsible for a portion of your treatment costs based on your income.

- Social Insurance Number (SIN) if available
- Proof of income
- Date of birth and full name
- Home and mailing addresses
- Information about other government dental coverage
- Recent tax return and Notice of Assessment
